Spokane Lilac Festival Association Supports Airmen and Women

The Spokane Lilac Festival Association (SLFA) today announced a contribution of $13,000 to support the service men and women at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Funds were raised at the Sixth Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Golf Tournament on August 18, 2023; a tournament held every year in partnership with Team Fairchild.  The tournament was held at Wandermere Golf Course and presented by veteran-owned local construction company MarCon Renovation, and Global Credit Union.  All proceeds benefit the Fairchild Air Force Base Wing Morale Association, an essential organization dedicated to fostering camaraderie, supporting morale, and enhancing the quality of life for the Airmen and women and families stationed at Fairchild. This association plays a vital role in promoting a positive and cohesive environment within the base community.

“Being a veteran owned business, we understand intimately the importance of the programs and services that the Wing Morale Fund facilitates,” said Danial Marshall, owner of MarCon Renovation. “The Wing Morale Fund gives families and service members vital programs that they can depend on. Sponsoring this golf tournament allowed us to come together as a community to support the most important element of honoring our military which is supporting the people that stand behind our service members day in and day out.”

The oversold tournament was attended by 157 golfers who enjoyed a warm, sunny day on the course that included pictures, raffle baskets, a delicious lunch, and awards. Thanks to the generosity of tournament sponsors, 18 hole sponsors, raffle item donors, and golfers, the SLFA is honored to present the largest donation to the Wing Morale Association since the tournament’s inception.

The SLFA will present a check to the Wing Morale Association on Thursday, October 26 at 4:30pm at the Veteran’s Memorial, located on the south side of the Spokane Arena.  All are welcome to attend.
