Honoring Our Military
We are fortunate in Spokane to have a military installation right in our own back yard! Spokane loves Fairchild Air Force Base, home to the 92nd Air Refueling Wing, 141st Air Refueling Wing and the 336th Training Group.
Of course, we have a Naval Operational Support Center in town, Spokane MEPS – US Military Entrance Processing Command, Recruiting Commands for all services and more. The Spokane Lilac Festival Association always finds a way to reach all branches of service in the area from participating in Toys for Tots with the Marine Corp every year, to volunteering out at Fairchild!
America 250 Essay Contest
In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, middle and high school students are invited to share their reflections on what America means to them.
Categories:
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
High School (Grades 9–12)
One winner from each category will be honored at the All City Civic & Military Luncheon.
The Middle School winner will ride in the Jr. Lilac Parade.
The High School winner will ride in the Torchlight Parade.

Armed Forces Appreciation Golf Tournament

The SLFA is proud to partner with Team Fairchild annually to host the Armed Forces Appreciation Golf Tournament. This tournament benefits the Wing Morale Association at FAFB, which is dedicated to fostering camaraderie, supporting morale, and enhancing the quality of life for the airmen and women and their families stationed at Fairchild, and the Spokane Lilac Festival Association.
Community
The Spokane Lilac Festival Association is a part of the Northwest Festival Hosting Group, an organization that promotes their member’s festivals and encourages resource sharing between the organizations to enhance the quality and attendance of each festival’s events for the benefit of our communities.
