Our amazing Royalty Candidates have had another busy week of training and preparation for their team building activity with Directors this week. On Saturday, the candidates were the honored guests at The Woman’s Club’s “Vintage Fashion Show & Tea.” They greeted and guided guests to their tables as well as helped serve tea and hors d’oeuvres. They also had the opportunity to give a short introduction to the group of attendees. 2017 Royalty members, Queen August and Princess Hannah, and 2014 Princess Maddie even modeled a few of the beautiful vintage fashion pieces!
We only have a few short days until our wonderful candidates become our 2018 Royal Court members. Our Directors and judges from the community will have the difficult task of narrowing down the all deserving group of 17 to just 7. The court will be announced on Monday, February 12th. The 2018 Lilac Festival Queen & Court Coronation will be on Sunday, March 4th. Please see below for a link to purchase your tickets in advance.

The girls visited Sharp Shooters to learn how to defend themselves when they are in a crunch. They practiced self-defense moves and were shown how to use pepper spray and mini batons. The training was lead by Mark Crider and Robin Ball from Sharp Shooters.
They also received resume training from Sheila Jewell (HR Director for Kiemle & Hagood) and etiquette training from Lilac Director, Krystal Jaeger.

Our Royalty Candidates had such a great weekend!
The Royalty got to learn all about their personal brand from Maggie Crabtree, immediate past president of Downtown Kiwanis club.
Your brand doesn’t just represent yourself, but also your community, your school, your family and the Lilac organization.
On Saturday Royalty Candidates along with VP of Royalty Kim Johnson and chaperone Monika Hawkinson, served lunch to the homeless at the House of Charity, where 325 meals were provided.
The HOC provides emergency services including meals, shelter, and case management to an underserved population of homeless, transient, and poor men and women in the Spokane area while ensuring preservation of individual dignity.
